Eliseo Elija sent away a hard shot on goal in the 14th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Camilo Gisbert got a throw-in 15 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Luis Andino. 23 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tomas Viviano made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. After some careless play in the Defensores del Tiki Tiki defense, Agustín Saelices kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Tomas Viviano. The Defensores del Tiki Tiki fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Tomas Viviano should have stopped the shot. Tomas Viviano took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 30th minute, Cristian Sancho made a precise shot to the right of Tomas Viviano. Defensores del Tiki Tiki's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-4. 33 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-5. Tomas Viviano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Defensores del Tiki Tiki's Tomas Viviano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 36th minute of play. After 37 minutes of play, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita made it 0-6 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Tomas Viviano was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 41 minutes, Cristian Sancho made it 0-7 with a short kick to the right side. Defensores del Tiki Tiki's Tomas Viviano tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 45th minute of play forced Defensores del Tiki Tiki's goalkeeper Tomas Viviano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felix Montenegro in the 47th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tomas Viviano saved Defensores del Tiki Tiki from getting behind. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-7. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Benicio Perfecto stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Luis Andino kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Tomas Viviano. That made the score 0-8 in the 52 minute of play. In the 58th minute, Ecuador's Luis Andino ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Tomas Viviano. Tomas Viviano yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-10. Tomas Viviano was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Luis Andino showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 0-13 in the 70 minute of play. In the 74th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Tomas Viviano was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-14. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 77th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sanchos short, quick shot in the 89thth minute got Tomas Viviano to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. With an all-out effort, Ecuador's Tomas Viviano threw himself towards the right post 91 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luis Andino, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Cristian Sancho took a quick shot and it went in 0-18 without a chance for Tomas Viviano to make any attempt to save it.
