Francesco Toldo was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Francesco Toldo came out of the goal and Cristian Sancho tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Suleiman Süleyman struck a weak shot in the 73rd minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peretu City 09. In the 76th minute, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Francesco Toldo. Francesco Toldo yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-2. When Marcial Abar came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Peretu City 09 fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcial Abar couldn't finish the play. In the 81st minute, Marcial Abar made a precise shot to the right of Julio Vera. Ecuador's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. After 90 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Andino. In the 94th minute Robbe Stroobans shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The Peretu City 09 players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
