In the 7th minute Isidoro Sarmiento shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fernando Courtois saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8th minute, Hector Sarmiento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 10th minute, Çağrı Torehan got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Abraham Alguacil in the 15th minute of play forced Agro Imortal's goalkeeper Fernando Courtois to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Emílio Teixeira during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Panama booed when Agro Imortal was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Emílio Teixeira didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Agro Imortal getting a freekick after 17 minutes play. Çağrı Torehan hit a great ball. If Çağrı Torehan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 23rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. In the 28th minute of the game Jose Carita made a throw-in which Miguel Miralles played forward. 32 minutes into the game, Çağrı Torehan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Marcos Cotilla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Marcos Cotilla came out of the goal in the 39th minute to try and stop a shot by Agro Imortal's Çağrı Torehan. But to his dismay, Çağrı Torehan quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. 42 minutes into the game, Çağrı Torehan cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-0. Marcos Cotilla was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Abraham Alguacil's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fernando Courtois read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 3-0 at half-time.

In the 54th match minute, Panama was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felipe Ros to maneuver through the defense. In the 55th minute of the match Emílio Teixeira sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marcos Cotilla skillfully saved the ball. After having played for 56 minutes, Tomas Berganza managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Berganza was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 62 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Çağrı Torehan came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Çağrı Torehan in the 66th minute of play. Agro Imortal made a substitution. Dennis Bergkamp replaced Çağrı Torehan. Agro Imortal made a substitution. Denílson de Amorim replaced José Paulo Passos. Panama's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Abraham Alguacil in the 70th minute. Abraham Alguacil made a great header on Panama's corner, it was just that Agro Imortal's Fernando Courtois managed to reach the ball for a save. In the 73rdth minute of the game Dennis Bergkamp who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Panama's Marcos Cotilla was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dennis Bergkamp in the 79th minute of play. Dennis Bergkamp's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Marcos Cotilla read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. 84 minutes into the match, Agro Imortal's goalkeeper Fernando Courtois had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Abraham Alguacil. In the 87th minute, Dennis Bergkamp made a precise shot to the right of Marcos Cotilla. Panama's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. 90 minutes into the game, Jose Carita threw the ball into play from the sideline. Agro Imortal's Oswaldo Bueno quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. Marcos Cotilla showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dennis Bergkamp in the 91st minute of the match. In the 92nd minute Dennis Bergkamp shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Agro Imortal's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
