After 5 played minutes Alvarado de Mar del Plata got a freekick which was hit by Lennie Buckler. After 10 minutes of play, Alvarado de Mar del Plata's Haroldo Lorien made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Marcos Cotilla was left in no man's land by his defense there! Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Haroldo Lorien, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Iker Mincho came out of the goal in the 20th minute to try and stop a shot by Panama's Tomas Berganza. But to his dismay, Tomas Berganza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Haroldo Lorien in the 23rd minute of play forced Panama's goalkeeper Marcos Cotilla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Panama's Marcos Cotilla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Haroldo Lorien in the 36th minute of play. Rolando Hodei kicked well hit freekick during the 38th minute of the match. With an all-out effort, Alvarado de Mar del Plata's Marcos Cotilla threw himself towards the right post 43 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Haroldo Lorien, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Haroldo Lorien could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 46th minute of the match, but Marcos Cotilla made a huge save. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

Alvarado de Mar del Plata made a substitution. Kang Feng replaced Jacobo Vincent. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tomas Berganza to make the kick off. Rolando Hodei sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Iker Mincho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tomas Berganza in the 56th minute of the match. After having played for 61 minutes, Isidoro Sarmiento managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Panama's supporters crossed their fingers, but Isidoro Sarmiento was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Alvarado de Mar del Plata made a substitution. Mariano Verón replaced Enzo Kante. 67 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Kang Feng came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th minute Tomas Berganza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Iker Mincho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Miguel Miralles kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. When Alvarado de Mar del Plata's Kang Feng in the 72nd minute got a chance for a shot 72nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Panama's goalie prevented a goal. Alvarado de Mar del Plata were awarded a corner in the 73th minute after Panama's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Lennie Buckler took the corner. After taking down the ball on Alvarado de Mar del Plata's corner Lennie Buckler fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Marcos Cotilla quite easily take care of the ball. Tomas Berganza sent away a hard shot on goal in the 75th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lennie Buckler, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. Marcos Cotilla took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lennie Buckler, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 79th minute Haroldo Lorien shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Marcos Cotilla showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lennie Buckler, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. If Mariano Verón had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The supporters of Alvarado de Mar del Plata booed when Panama was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Miguel Miralles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Kang Feng received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Marcos Cotilla tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Abraham Alguacil had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
