Spectators: 39 (Terracing: 30, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Javier Ospin kicked off to start the match. Javier Ospin's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 4thth minute, Benito Sanz skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Paul Caniggia in the 6th minute. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Javier Ospin in the 8th minute of play. When the match had gone on for 16 minutes, Javier Ospin took a quick shot and it went in 1-0 without a chance for Benito Sanz to make any attempt to save it. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's goalkeeper Leo Franco, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Benito Sanz made an important save on a dangerous shot by Javier Ospin in the 21st minute. After 21st play minutes Javier Ospin shot 2-0, a short shot which went by Benito Sanz and just under the crossbar into goal. Abel Carballo hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. The crowd rose to their feet as C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's Javier Ospin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Benito Sanz. That made the score 4-0 after 33 minutes of play. 36 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Javier Ospin. Damaso Cordeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 37th minute of the match. In the 38th minute, Axel Tasis sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's Leo Franco didn't even have to move. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eliseo Noboa in the 42nd minute of play forced C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's goalkeeper Leo Franco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Leo Franco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Axel Tasis, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. Eliseo Noboa hit a great freekick 46 minutes into the match. 47 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Javier Ospin came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Tasis to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Costa Rica defense, Domingo Blai kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Benito Sanz. The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Javier Ospin in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Sanz saved Costa Rica from getting behind. Javier Ospin took the ball and in the 63 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-0. In the 65th match minute, C.A. BOCA JUNIORS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valentin Matei to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Axel Tasis got free with Leo Franco in the 67th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 69 minutes of play, C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's Javier Ospin made it 7-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Javier Ospin in the 74th minute of the match. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Javier Ospin's shot from short distance in the 75th minute. 77 minutes into the game, C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's Javier Ospin nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 8-0. When Javier Ospin came up free with the goalie in the 81st minute, the C.A. BOCA JUNIORS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Javier Ospin couldn't finish the play. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Javier Ospin in the 82nd minute of play. Benito Sanz didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Domingo Blai went, in the 83rd minute, to the upper right corner, 9-0 was the resulting score. After a rather tough play, C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's Domingo Blai got a free kick in the 88th minute. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Javier Ospin in the 90th minute of play. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Domingo Blai's shot from short distance in the 94th minute. There was no doubt that C.A. BOCA JUNIORS were the better team. C.A. BOCA JUNIORS's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
