When Alberto Tafalla came up free with the goalie in the 5th minute, the Mexico fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alberto Tafalla couldn't finish the play. Hu Zhen Hong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Facundo Cadaval, who was totally free with the ball in the 6th minute. After a rather tough play, A A Arizona's Maicon Cavalcante got a free kick in the 8th minute. Hu Zhen Hong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 10th minute of play. If Natã Pereira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the A A Arizona defense, Joel Gaona kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hu Zhen Hong. The A A Arizona fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hu Zhen Hong should have stopped the shot. 19 minutes into the match, Alberto Tafalla notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of A A Arizona's Hu Zhen Hong. Hu Zhen Hong was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Joel Gaona struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Natã Pereira stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Maicon Cavalcante in the 51st minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alberto Tafalla in the 71st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hu Zhen Hong saved A A Arizona from getting behind.
