Germano Pernambucano sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Patricio Costa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Intxixu Porregimon read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 22nd minute of play. In the 27th minute Tomas Illescas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Intxixu Porregimon saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Venezuela's Tomas Illescas got a good chance for a goal in the 29th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After having played for 31 minutes, Abel de Lara managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mexilhão F. C.'s supporters crossed their fingers, but Abel de Lara was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Anaia Barba might have been able to make a better finish in the 37th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jonathan Ferrant. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Anaia Barba ran back to his position shaking his head. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Venezuela from getting a goal against them. After 41 played minutes Mexilhão F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Anaia Barba. Jose Correa hit a great freekick 44 minutes into the match. Through an outstanding action, after 47 minutes, Jonathan Ferrant successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Tomas Illescas stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Mexilhão F. C. booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alex Chicote didn't get a good kick on the ball. Anaia Barba charged in rather forcefully in the 58th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anaia Barba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 58 played minutes Mexilhão F. C. got a freekick which was hit by Anaia Barba. A throw-in in the 63rd minute of the game was made by Kacper Jaworski with Germano Pernambucano as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anaia Barba in the 67th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Kacper Jaworski's late challenge caught a Venezuela's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Germano Pernambucano, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. In the 90th minute of the game Arthur dos Santos made a throw-in which Germano Pernambucano played forward. Mexilhão F. C. were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
