After 13 minutes of play, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Régis de Queirós was left in no man's land by his defense there! If Sebastian Villa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 19 minutes, Iustin Bungeanu put it in 2-1 from a short distance just to the right of Lautaro Navarro. Lautaro Navarro was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Leonardo Donato showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 3-1 in the 22 minute of play. Palmeiras's supporters crossed their fingers, but Leonardo Donato was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 45th match minute, Honduras was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sebastian Villa to maneuver through the defense.

When Palmeiras's Luke Clist in the 55th minute got a chance for a shot 55th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Moises Tafalla fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Régis de Queirós having to interfere. In the 75th minute, Luca Espinar hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lautaro Navarro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luke Clist, who was totally free with the ball in the 77th minute. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luke Clist in the 79th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luke Clist in the 81st minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Régis de Queirós acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 82nd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Esteban Carvallo. Luke Clist got his second yellow card in the match during the 87th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 88th minute, Luke Clist hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Régis de Queirós stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edmundo Espiga's shot from short distance in the 89th minute. In the 91st minute, José Carlos Simões got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Carlos Simões in the 93rd minute of play. After 94 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Luca Espinar.
