Francisco Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 19 played minutes Uruguay got a freekick which was hit by Maximiliano Escribano. Francisco Seco scored 0-1 in the 26th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Kaká Lopes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Kaká Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Camilo Franco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Kaká Lopes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Francisco Seco's shot from short distance in the 36th minute. Kaká Lopes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Maximiliano Escribano in the 38th minute of play. Kaká Lopes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Francisco Seco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Jenipapo SC defense, Maximiliano Escribano kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Kaká Lopes. The Jenipapo SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Kaká Lopes should have stopped the shot.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Leonardo Magalhães to strike the kick off in the second half. A collision led to Uruguay getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Jorge Sainz hit a great ball. With a little luck, Jenipapo SC's Kaká Lopes got control of the ball when Maximiliano Escribano tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 58th minute, Francisco Seco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Uruguay fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. Maximiliano Escribano recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 61st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 65th match minute, Jenipapo SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rafinha Gomes to maneuver through the defense. Francisco Seco who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 67thth minute tested the skills of Kaká Lopes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Maximiliano Escribano charged in rather forcefully in the 68th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Maximiliano Escribano the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Maximiliano Escribano kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Rafinha Gomes was shown his second yellow card after 70 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. After 70 played minutes Jenipapo SC got a freekick which was hit by Rafinha Gomes. Lauro Bertassi kicked well hit freekick during the 75th minute of the match. 76 minutes into the match, Uruguay's Jaime Cazalla sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Kaká Lopes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Francisco Seco who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Kaká Lopes when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Alberto Gisbert's late challenge caught a Jenipapo SC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card.
