The Costa Rica fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Benito Sanz should have stopped the shot. Cosme Artizar struck a weak shot in the 11th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for SC Conceição. SC Conceição's attentive Álvaro Velloso managed to snatch the ball when Efrain Moruga made a throw-in in the 12th minute of the game. After a rather tough play, Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a free kick in the 13th minute. After 15 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Costa Rica! Florentino Cedro might have been able to make a better finish in the 20th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Florentino Cedro ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Abel Carballo during the 23rd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 23rd match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Abel Carballo to maneuver through the defense. Florentino Cedro took the ball and in the 24 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Benito Sanz. The supporters of SC Conceição booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 34 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Moruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Abel Carballo kicked well hit freekick during the 36th minute of the match. In the 39th minute, Florentino Cedro made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. 44 minutes in the game Efrain Moruga did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Aaron Alcocer.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Tasis to strike the kick off in the second half. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Nevares in the 54th minute of the match. The corner ended in Kauã Rezende almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz did a great save. 60 minutes into the match, Florentino Cedro notched a goal, 8-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it.
