Robert Davison showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julian Murillo in the 33rd minute of the match. Sportivo Luan Toro's Robert Davison played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Julian Murillo in the 33rd minute of play. Tiburcio Tabor hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Robert Davison made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luz Tejedor in the 37th minute of play. After 38 minutes Sportivo Luan Toro's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Luz Tejedor who took care of the corner kick. Alonso Berganza was in a good position and ended up with the ball after Peru's free kick, but he didn't get a good hit on the ball and blazed it high and to the right of the goal. 40 minutes into the match, Sportivo Luan Toro's goal looked a bit too open when Julian Murillo came free, but Robert Davison reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 41st match minute, Sportivo Luan Toro was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Benjamin Sundin to maneuver through the defense. A collision led to Peru getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Alonso Berganza hit a great ball. When Olli Fiedler came up free with the goalie in the 45th minute, the Sportivo Luan Toro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Olli Fiedler couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Julian Murillo made the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Peru booed when Sportivo Luan Toro was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 52 match minutes in a wonderful position. Benjamin Sundin didn't get a good kick on the ball. 54 minutes into the match, Sportivo Luan Toro's goalkeeper Robert Davison had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Milagros Fraga. 57 minutes into the game, Olli Fiedler cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Rolando Noboa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Robert Davison in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 62nd minute, Peru's Julian Murillo ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Robert Davison. Robert Davison yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-1. Sportivo Luan Toro made a substitution. Martins Palermo replaced Olli Fiedler. 71 minutes into the match, Luz Tejedor had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Robert Davison. Sportivo Luan Toro's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Luz Tejedor was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Robert Davison made a fantastic save in the 76th minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. Martins Palermo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Peru's Antonio Tenorio was substituted for Luz Tejedor. 84 minutes in the game, Rafael Gallo dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. 88 minutes had been played when some careless play by Peru's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Guaberto Bento was slow to take the kick. During this time Sportivo Luan Toro's players had a chance to rest. A nice corner shot did that Benjamin Sundin got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Rolando Noboa quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. The Sportivo Luan Toro fans' excitement grew in the 88th match minute when Sportivo Luan Toro's Ricardo Mendez looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Sportivo Luan Toro's Robert Davison played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rafael Gallo in the 91st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Martins Palermo in the 94th minute of play forced Peru's goalkeeper Rolando Noboa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Sportivo Luan Toro were victorious despite being under pressure from Peru for much of the match.
