Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Congo Bongo's Damaso Sancho started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. If Joel Gaona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Mexico defense, Damaso Sancho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. Máté Márton made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 10th minute of play. After 10 minutes of play, Mexico's Joel Gaona made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Máté Márton was left in no man's land by his defense there! Damaso Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Dante Lacasa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 17 minutes had been played when some careless play by Congo Bongo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. After a defensive mix-up in Congo Bongo's zone, Lautaro Mancebo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Máté Márton came out of the goal and Lautaro Mancebo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Mexico booed when Congo Bongo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ingvar Andersson didn't get a good kick on the ball. Damaso Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. In the 26th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Felix Luque to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 26 minutes, Sergio Austin managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Congo Bongo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Sergio Austin was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 28th minute of play forced Congo Bongo's goalkeeper Máté Márton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 29th minute Mexico were awarded a corner. Joel Gaona went to the cornerflag to take it. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Damaso Sancho in the 32nd minute of the match. Sergio Austin succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 2-1 in the 33rd playminute. Özalp Yavuzalp kicked well hit freekick during the 35th minute of the match. Lautaro Mancebo scored 2-2 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Máté Márton, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

After 60 minutes Congo Bongo's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Joel Gaona who took care of the corner kick. After a rather tough play, Mexico's Alberto Tafalla got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Froilan Iaki in the 64th minute of play. In the 73rdth minute of the game Sergio Austin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Mexico's Dante Lacasa was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Congo Bongo made a substitution. Arnaldo Oidor replaced Damaso Sancho. In the 77th minute, Facundo Cadaval hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Froilan Iaki's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dante Lacasa was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Froilan Iaki in the 81st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 84th minute of play forced Congo Bongo's goalkeeper Máté Márton to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ingvar Andersson took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Dante Lacasa. Mexico's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
