The Mexico fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Dante Lacasa should have stopped the shot. In the 44th minute, Facundo Cadaval hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hector-Luis Arzola in the 46th minute. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 2-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Macías in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 62nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Azul Y Plomo's goalkeeper Zacarias Cabrero, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by José Macías in the 89th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zacarias Cabrero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 91st minute of the match. In the 92nd minute Latif Biçim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Latif Biçim hit a great freekick 94 minutes into the match. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Mexico eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
