Spectators: 45 (Terracing: 35, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Mexico's Joel Gaona started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zuri Macías, who was totally free with the ball in the 10th minute. Zacarias Cabrero made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 11th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Hector-Luis Arzola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice moves Hector-Luis Arzola could shoot a difficult shot in the 21st minute, which Dante Lacasa however easily saved by the left post. Zuri Macías had several of the Mexico's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 21 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Dante Lacasa as he didn't even see the shot coming. Mexico's Dante Lacasa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by José Macías in the 32nd minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Hector-Luis Arzola got free with Dante Lacasa in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Azul Y Plomo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by José Macías in the 35th minute. 39 minutes into the match, Azul Y Plomo's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Zacarias Cabrero reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Hector-Luis Arzola in the 42nd minute. Azul Y Plomo were furious when Chiriboga Torres was red carded, 44 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. The supporters of Mexico booed when Azul Y Plomo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chiriboga Torres didn't get a good kick on the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Lautaro Mancebo received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zacarias Cabrero came out and tried to block the shot, but Lautaro Mancebo slotted it home off the left post making it 1-1 in the 52nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Joel Gaona in the 62nd minute of play forced Azul Y Plomo's goalkeeper Zacarias Cabrero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zacarias Cabrero made an important save on a dangerous shot by Lautaro Mancebo in the 64th minute. In the 71st minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zacarias Cabrero saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
