The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Dagoberto Neila might have been able to make a better finish in the 8th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jacobo Nores. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dagoberto Neila ran back to his position shaking his head. Dagoberto Neila received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Jacobo Nores tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpected shot in the 12th minute by Herminio Iratze got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. 12 minutes into the match, Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Herminio Iratze. 14 minutes into the game, INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s Herminio Iratze nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jacobo Nores made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Paraguay's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Dagoberto Neila 20 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 3-0. After having played for 23 minutes, Herminio Iratze managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Herminio Iratze showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 5-0. Herminio Iratze received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 40th minute. Jacobo Nores tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 41st minute, Paraguay's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Herminio Iratze fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Dagoberto Neila did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 6-0 to the left of a surprised Jacobo Nores 41 minutes into the match. 46 minutes into the game, Jaime Pardo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Paraguay's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave INDEPENDIENTE F.C. the free kick. After 46 played minutes Paraguay got a freekick which was hit by Jaime Pardo. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 6-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Jaime Pardo to make the kick off. When Dagoberto Neila came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the INDEPENDIENTE F.C. fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dagoberto Neila couldn't finish the play. Hector Covarrubias hit a great freekick 61 minutes into the match. Jacobo Nores stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dagoberto Neila's shot from short distance in the 62nd minute. The audience was convinced that Dagoberto Neila's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jacobo Nores was relentless in the 65th minute of the game. The INDEPENDIENTE F.C. fans' excitement grew in the 65th match minute when INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s Dagoberto Neila looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dagoberto Neila in the 81st minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 82 minutes into the match, INDEPENDIENTE F.C.'s Dagoberto Neila sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jacobo Nores narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A nice corner shot did that Domenico Rosato got away a dangerous shot. Jacobo Nores was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Jacobo Nores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Herminio Iratze in the 89th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dagoberto Neila in the 92nd minute of play forced Paraguay's goalkeeper Jacobo Nores to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
