When the match clock showed 41 minutes, the score became 0-2 when Cassius Byrne sped through Guanacos's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Marcial Orlandus. Diego Bradley kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. Paulo Pierres who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 46thth minute tested the skills of Marco Day when he managed to save the team from getting behind. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Paulo Pierres made a kick off. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cassius Byrne got free with Marcial Orlandus in the 57th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Diego Bradley kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. After 59 played minutes, Guanacos's Ricardo Hug shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Marco Day came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Guanacos reached it. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Paulo Pierres, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a defensive mix-up in USA's zone, Paulo Pierres stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Marco Day came out of the goal and Paulo Pierres tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Guanacos made a substitution. Denis Pello replaced Danilo Sanchez. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vinicio Esdras during the 76th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Marcial Orlandus showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Khalid Parry in the 91st minute of the match. USA played a much better game than Guanacos and deserved their victory. The Guanacos players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
