Diego Eterno's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Daniel Zorita was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Daniel Zorita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Romeo Toli made a huge save. After having played for 80 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 91th minute after Diego Eterno's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner.
