Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Filomeno Bladi, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. After 16 minutes Ecuador's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was David Antunes who took care of the corner kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 18th minute of play forced αѕαɗо γ ςαвεʀηετ's goalkeeper Daniël Isla to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Filomeno Bladi's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 25th minute of play. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Daniël Isla having to interfere. In the 38th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Daniël Isla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Filomeno Bladi, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 44th minute, Esteve Lando hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a free kick in the 47th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

A throw-in in the 54th minute of the game was made by Juan Sebastián Puig with Luis Andino as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. The crowd rose to their feet as Cristian Sancho kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Daniël Isla. That made the score 1-1 in the 55 minute of play. In the 58thth minute of the game Filomeno Bladi who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Cristian Sancho came free with the goalkeeper in the 60th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Daniël Isla could save by the left post. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 61 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Daniël Isla. Daniël Isla dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. Agustín Saelices received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Daniël Isla came out and tried to block the shot, but Agustín Saelices slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 65th minute. After 75th play minutes George Lucas shot 2-3, a short shot which went by Julio Vera and just under the crossbar into goal. The audience was convinced that George Lucas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 78th minute of the game. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Esteve Lando in the 82nd minute of the match. George Lucas struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Julio Vera didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for αѕαɗо γ ςαвεʀηετ. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from George Lucas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from George Lucas went, in the 84th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-3 was the resulting score. αѕαɗо γ ςαвεʀηετ's Daniël Isla played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 86th minute of play. The audience was convinced that George Lucas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. After 91 played minutes, αѕαɗо γ ςαвεʀηετ's David Antunes shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Julio Vera came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in αѕαɗо γ ςαвεʀηετ reached it. After a defensive mix-up in αѕαɗо γ ςαвεʀηετ's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Daniël Isla came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
