Benedicto Naelio struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Isaac Ferreira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Argentina. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Vicente Nevada could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Isaac Ferreira made a huge save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Severo Rolado in the 80th minute of play forced Brazil's goalkeeper Isaac Ferreira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Isaac Ferreira took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Vicente Nevada, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 87th minute, Benjamin da Fonseca made a precise shot to the right of Lev Yashin. Argentina's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-2. Isaac Ferreira didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Arnaldo Perpinya went, in the 93rd minute, to the upper right corner, 4-3 was the resulting score. 96 minutes into the match, Argentina's goal looked a bit too open when Benjamin da Fonseca came free, but Lev Yashin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
