In the 12th minute of the match, Davi Dal Bello got a very nice opportunity to score, but Marcos Cotilla was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Davi Dal Bello got free with Marcos Cotilla in the 12th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Marcos Cotilla didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Leopoldo Loureiro went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-0 was the resulting score. Leopoldo Loureiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Marcos Cotilla made a huge save. 20 minutes in the game, Leopoldo Loureiro dribbled his way through the penalty area and after maneuvering past an opponent, drilled a quick shot at the goal. The ball looked like it was going in, but it was hit a bit too hard and flew over the goal. If Davi Dal Bello had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Davi Dal Bello sent away a hard shot on goal in the 37th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Marcos Cotilla stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leopoldo Loureiro's shot from short distance in the 39th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Isidoro Sarmiento in the 44th minute of play forced Dal 3ello's goalkeeper Igor Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Davi Dal Bello was the one to do the kick off. Dal 3ello were awarded a corner in the 52th minute after Panama's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Davi Dal Bello took the corner. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tomas Berganza in the 54th minute of play forced Dal 3ello's goalkeeper Igor Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marcos Cotilla made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Leopoldo Loureiro in the 60th minute of play. 62 minutes into the game, Dal 3ello's Leopoldo Loureiro nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Marcos Cotilla made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. After 66 played minutes Dal 3ello got a freekick which was hit by Natan Dal Bello. Dylan Sarmiento took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 67th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Igor Taffarel. Dal 3ello's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Tomas Berganza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Igor Taffarel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute Leopoldo Loureiro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 77 minutes into the match, Panama's goal looked a bit too open when Davi Dal Bello came free, but Marcos Cotilla reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Panama's Jose Carita got a free kick in the 82nd minute. In the 88th minute, Jose Carita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 96th minute Davi Dal Bello shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcos Cotilla saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Dal 3ello fans cheered their team off the field, for while Panama had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
