An unexpectedly hard shot by Matthias Ekegren in the 13th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 20 minutes into the match, Stor Mønster notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Alan Moruga a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 47 minutes play. Alan Moruga hit a great ball. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-1 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Axel Tasis to strike the kick off in the second half. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matthias Ekegren in the 56th minute of the match. In the 59th minute Bertil Fanström shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Benito Sanz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-1. Roland Lindström made a fantastic save in the 97th minute, when Axel Tasis sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, Juoksengi's Lennart Gunnarsson got a free kick in the 97th minute. There was no doubt that Juoksengi were the better team. Juoksengi's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
