Hudson Gaúcho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 4th minute of play. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 7th minute. Hudson Gaúcho didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. Hudson Gaúcho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 10th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hudson Gaúcho saved Austra 04 VFC from getting behind. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 11th minute. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Hudson Gaúcho quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hudson Gaúcho saved Austra 04 VFC from getting behind. Hudson Gaúcho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Hudson Gaúcho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 18th minute of play. 19 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Luis Andino sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hudson Gaúcho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 22 minutes into the match, Primitivo Andino notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Austra 04 VFC's Hudson Gaúcho. Hudson Gaúcho was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. 27 minutes into the match, Austra 04 VFC's goal looked a bit too open when Luis Andino came free, but Hudson Gaúcho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Austra 04 VFC's Hudson Gaúcho played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 27th minute of play. Hudson Gaúcho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cristian Sancho, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Cristian Sancho in the 29th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Hudson Gaúcho saved Austra 04 VFC from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 30th minute of play forced Austra 04 VFC's goalkeeper Hudson Gaúcho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hudson Gaúcho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 32nd minute of play. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 34th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 38th minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hudson Gaúcho was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Hudson Gaúcho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hudson Gaúcho having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Douglas Tande made a kick off. Cristian Sancho struck a weak shot in the 51st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Austra 04 VFC's zone, Felix Montenegro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hudson Gaúcho came out of the goal and Felix Montenegro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The corner ended in Daniel Zorita almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Austra 04 VFC's Hudson Gaúcho did a great save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Hudson Gaúcho in the 60th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 61st minute. 63 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hudson Gaúcho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Ecuador's Agustín Saelices was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Hudson Gaúcho in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 69th minute of the match, Daniel Zorita got a very nice opportunity to score, but Hudson Gaúcho was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Hudson Gaúcho made a fantastic save in the 73rd minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. With a little luck, Austra 04 VFC's Hudson Gaúcho got control of the ball when Primitivo Andino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Hudson Gaúcho was out of position in the 78 minute of play, and Primitivo Andino capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Primitivo Andino really showed his touch with that goal: 0-3. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 82nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 84 minutes into the match, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hudson Gaúcho narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 85th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a rather tough play, Austra 04 VFC's Zachary Madej got a free kick in the 89th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Daniel Zorita slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hudson Gaúcho. That made the score 0-4 after 93 minutes of play. Ecuador played a much better game than Austra 04 VFC and deserved their victory. The Austra 04 VFC players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
