Tigres Ñacuñán FC's Eloy Mazuste played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luis Andino in the 17th minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in Tigres Ñacuñán FC's zone, Daniel Zorita stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Eloy Mazuste came out of the goal and Daniel Zorita tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Christian Bergqvist in the 20th minute of play. In the 23rd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eloy Mazuste saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 24th match minute, Tigres Ñacuñán FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Baldomiro Ireno to maneuver through the defense. The score stood at 0-0 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, Tigres Ñacuñán FC's Mariano Llorian got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 58th minute, Cristian Sancho got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 67 minutes of play, Tigres Ñacuñán FC's Christian Bergqvist made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfonso Pere in the 72nd minute of the match. Tigres Ñacuñán FC's Eloy Mazuste played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 73rd minute of play. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Tigres Ñacuñán FC's goalie and right to Luis Andino. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Tigres Ñacuñán FC's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. A very good chance. 95 minutes into the game, Frans Pedolles was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Tigres Ñacuñán FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. The home crowd let out a huge roar when the referee blew for the end of the game. Tigres Ñacuñán FC were victorious despite being under pressure from Ecuador for much of the match.
