The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Valentino Ferrant during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to El Salvador getting a freekick after 26 minutes play. Valentino Ferrant hit a great ball. Ricardo Zorita made a fantastic save in the 27th minute, when Dante Ler sent off a good shot on target. After a rather tough play, El Salvador's Joshua Curbelo got a free kick in the 28th minute. After a defensive mix-up in El Salvador's zone, Eduardo Gitano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ricardo Zorita came out of the goal and Eduardo Gitano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Abram Luque charged in rather forcefully in the 31st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Abram Luque the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 31 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Abram Luque. After a defensive mix-up in El Salvador's zone, Eduardo Gitano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 37 minutes into the game, Joshua Curbelo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. El Salvador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Club A. Independiente the free kick. Joshua Curbelo hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Roberto Rojelio could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Ricardo Zorita made a huge save. In the 42nd minute, Moises Fernandino ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Epifanio Havier was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1.

Filiberto Hanot hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. When Eduardo Gitano came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Club A. Independiente fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Eduardo Gitano couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Club A. Independiente's Filiberto Hanot got a free kick in the 57th minute. Epifanio Havier made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Fernandino in the 59th minute of play. In the 59th match minute, Club A. Independiente was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gervasio Dalmai to maneuver through the defense. Epifanio Havier made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abram Luque in the 66th minute. 68 minutes into the match, Eduardo Gitano notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of El Salvador's Ricardo Zorita. Ricardo Zorita was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. But to his dismay, Eduardo Gitano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Mateo Leguizamo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Epifanio Havier tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mateo Leguizamo, 81 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. In the 82nd minute, Saul Fresco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Moises Fernandino came up free with the goalie in the 84th minute, the El Salvador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Moises Fernandino couldn't finish the play. Filiberto Hanot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. After 93 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Marco Tamayo. Marco Tamayo charged in rather forcefully in the 94th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Marco Tamayo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 94th minute, Marco Tamayo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eduardo Gitano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. For all the effort they put into the match, the El Salvador players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Club A. Independiente.
