A collision led to Costa Rica getting a freekick after 8 minutes play. Axel Tasis hit a great ball. Arden Poulin scored 1-0 in the 9th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Through an outstanding action, after 13 minutes, Benito Sanz successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Benito Sanz stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Léopold Castro's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. Benito Sanz didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Persepolis F.C.'s Léopold Castro shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-0 in the ordered_time% minute. In the 25th minute Arden Poulin shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Benito Sanz saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Avery Merrill scored 4-0 in the 27th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 31st minute, Arden Poulin left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Persepolis F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. After a rather tough play, Persepolis F.C.'s Ildefonso Harkaitz got a free kick in the 33rd minute. Santos Perez showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Avery Merrill in the 38th minute of play forced Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Abraham Dutton hit a great freekick 39 minutes into the match. In the 40th match minute, Persepolis F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kory Saunders to maneuver through the defense. Santos Perez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Tasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Costa Rica's Lautaro Puig got a good chance for a goal in the 45th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 47thth minute of the game Arden Poulin who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Costa Rica's Benito Sanz was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Léopold Castro to make the kick off. Lautaro Puig sent away a hard shot on goal in the 51st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 53 minutes into the match, Arden Poulin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Arden Poulin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 7-0. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Léopold Castro in the 59th minute of play. Benito Sanz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Avery Merrill, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 67th minute, Avery Merrill ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Benito Sanz was frozen by the shot and now it was 8-0. Persepolis F.C.'s Danny Craig was substituted for Ildefonso Harkaitz. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Avery Merrill in the 71st minute of play. Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Avery Merrill in the 73rd minute of the match. After 77 minutes of play, Persepolis F.C.'s Arden Poulin made it 9-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Benito Sanz was left in no man's land by his defense there! Benito Sanz showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Arden Poulin in the 80th minute of the match. 82 minutes into the game, Avery Merrill cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 10-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Santos Perez made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Axel Tasis sent off a good shot on target. The audience was convinced that Léopold Castro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Benito Sanz was relentless in the 88th minute of the game. Avery Merrill received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 93rd minute. Benito Sanz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 95 minutes into the match, Danny Craig had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Danny Craig was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 11-0. There was no doubt that Persepolis F.C. were the better team. Persepolis F.C.'s players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
