Spectators: 41 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Sport Clube Recife's Doctor Strange started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Percy Fernandez was relentless in the 7th minute of the game. Pablo Lampard could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 32nd minute of the match, but Jonathan Ferrant made a huge save. Pablo Lampard struck a weak shot in the 34th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sport Clube Recife. 38 minutes into the match, Venezuela's goal looked a bit too open when Doctor Strange came free, but Jonathan Ferrant reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Doctor Strange put it in 6-0 from a short distance just to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Percy Fernandez took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tomas Illescas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Jonathan Ferrant made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Doctor Strange in the 47th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 6-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Tomas Illescas made a kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Venezuela's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomas Illescas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Doctor Strange in the 54th minute of play. 55 minutes into the game, Sport Clube Recife's Doctor Strange nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Jonathan Ferrant made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 7-0. Doctor Strange scored 8-0 in the 58th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Jonathan Ferrant, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 62nd minute, Pablo Lampard ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Jonathan Ferrant was frozen by the shot and now it was 9-0. After having played for 65 minutes, Dong Yang Bang managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sport Clube Recife's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dong Yang Bang was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Tomas Illescas's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Percy Fernandez read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 74th minute of play. A sloppy throw-in by Marco Tardelli in the 76th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas. When Tomas Illescas came up free with the goalie in the 80th minute, the Venezuela fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tomas Illescas couldn't finish the play. Percy Fernandez made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Tomas Illescas sent off a good shot on target. In the 86th minute, Patricio Costa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
