Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Desiderio Montel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 21st minute, Cristian Sancho ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Desiderio Montel was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hector Herensuge in the 24th minute of play. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hector Herensuge, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Village Saint Charles FRC's Desiderio Montel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Zorita in the 34th minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Desiderio Montel in the 63rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 69 minutes into the match, Michael Corleone notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera. Julio Vera was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Daniel Zorita's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Desiderio Montel firmly grabbed it by the left post. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cristian Sancho got free with Desiderio Montel in the 86th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Camilo Gisbert's late challenge caught a Village Saint Charles FRC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Camilo Gisbert helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Village Saint Charles FRC booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 88 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 89 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert.
