Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nando Lima started the match with the kick off. When Ecuador's Cristian Sancho in the 2nd minute got a chance for a shot 2nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Paulo José Rodrigues stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Felix Montenegro's shot from short distance in the 8th minute. 13 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Paulo José Rodrigues was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nando Limas short, quick shot in the 16thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After having played for 21 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Felippe Fonseca charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Felippe Fonseca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. 29 minutes into the match, Agustín Saelices had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Paulo José Rodrigues. Queluzito's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Agustín Saelices was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Paulo José Rodrigues breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 36th minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo José Rodrigues saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 39 played minutes Queluzito got a freekick which was hit by Tomé Cerezo. In the 42nd minute Nando Lima shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Paulo José Rodrigues showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Daniel Zorita, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Aírton de Amaral tried to sneak it across the goal line. Disappointed in the 1-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Daniel Zorita made a kick off. In the 55th minute, Queluzito's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Daniel Zorita fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. A collision led to Queluzito getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Aírton de Amaral hit a great ball. Mazinho Lara hit a great freekick 90 minutes into the match. Ecuador's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
