An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Zorita in the 16th minute of play forced ROSÁRIO SPORT's goalkeeper Luiz Corrêa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sten Andrejević in the 18th minute of play. Camilo Gisbert got a throw-in 20 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Cristian Sancho. Luiz Corrêa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some careless play in the Ecuador defense, Sten Andrejević kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Julio Vera. The Ecuador fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Julio Vera should have stopped the shot. Sten Andrejević might have been able to make a better finish in the 26th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Sten Andrejević ran back to his position shaking his head. Sten Andrejević could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Daniel Zorita in the 28th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Luiz Corrêa saved ROSÁRIO SPORT from getting behind. Luiz Corrêa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 31st minute of the match. After 31 minutes of play, Ecuador's Felix Montenegro made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Luiz Corrêa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 36th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Sten Andrejević sent away a hard shot on goal in the 42nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Tony Dionísio to make the kick off. Luiz Corrêa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 52nd minute of play. The audience was convinced that Tony Dionísio's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 55th minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sten Andrejević in the 56th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. ROSÁRIO SPORT's Luiz Corrêa proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save ROSÁRIO SPORT from getting a goal against them. A well-hit corner resulted in Felix Montenegro heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. 90 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-2. Luiz Corrêa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When Tony Dionísio came up free with the goalie in the 93rd minute, the ROSÁRIO SPORT fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Tony Dionísio couldn't finish the play. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
