Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Delfim Paraense started the match with the kick off. After 5 minutes Honduras's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Delfim Paraense who took care of the corner kick. Inter de Melão's Delfim Paraense was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Lautaro Navarro in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 9th minute, Maurinho Vergílio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edmundo Espiga in the 11th minute of play forced Inter de Melão's goalkeeper Claudio-Paul Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Honduras's Lautaro Navarro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Delfim Paraense in the 12th minute of play. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Delfim Paraense in the 13th minute of the match. Claudio-Paul Taffarel showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastian Villa, who was totally free with the ball in the 18th minute. When Honduras's Sebastian Villa in the 19th minute got a chance for a shot 19th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 34th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Claudio-Paul Taffarel saved Inter de Melão from getting behind. When Delfim Paraense fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Inter de Melão's protests and gave Delfim Paraense a yellow card for diving instead. In the 47th minute, Delfim Paraense hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Sebastian Villa in the 48th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Claudio-Paul Taffarel prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After the first half Honduras were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Edmundo Espiga to strike the kick off in the second half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto Farias in the 52nd minute of play forced Honduras's goalkeeper Lautaro Navarro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Edmundo Espiga in the 67th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Claudio-Paul Taffarel saved Inter de Melão from getting behind. Edmundo Espiga was slow to take the kick. During this time Honduras's players had a chance to rest. Sebastian Villa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Claudio-Paul Taffarel read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 80th minute of play. Lautaro Navarro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Delfim Paraense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 84th minute, Honduras's Edmundo Espiga dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sebastian Villa in the 89th minute of play forced Inter de Melão's goalkeeper Claudio-Paul Taffarel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Moises Tafalla sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Edmundo Espiga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudio-Paul Taffarel having to interfere. The Honduras players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
