GuateFortín's Roberto Trotta quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Felix Garrido, made in the 2nd minute of the game. 5 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's goal looked a bit too open when Mariano Lacasa came free, but Nery Pumpido reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 12th minute, GuateFortín's Thierry Henry ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Thiago Pliego. Thiago Pliego yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-0. 18 minutes into the match, GuateFortín's Thierry Henry sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Thiago Pliego narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 19 minutes had been played when some careless play by Chile's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Angel Alvarenga was slow to take the kick. During this time GuateFortín's players had a chance to rest. The corner led GuateFortín's Angel Alvarenga to fire away a dangerous shot which Thiago Pliego despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Máximo Perrone hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thiago Pliego showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Thierry Henry in the 26th minute of the match. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mariano Lacasa made a kick off. Chile's Thiago Pliego played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thierry Henry in the 51st minute of play. The attack was good, but when Thierry Henry in the 60th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. After having played for 76 minutes, Thierry Henry managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. GuateFortín's supporters crossed their fingers, but Thierry Henry was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 81st minute Orlando Casaus shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nery Pumpido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Mariano Lacasa's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Nery Pumpido read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 82nd minute of play. In the 84th minute Mariano Lacasa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nery Pumpido saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a rather tough play, GuateFortín's Angel Alvarenga got a free kick in the 86th minute. Mariano Lacasa might have been able to make a better finish in the 88th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nery Pumpido. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Mariano Lacasa ran back to his position shaking his head. Nery Pumpido made a fantastic save in the 91st minute, when Mariano Lacasa sent off a good shot on target. In the 92nd minute, Angel Alvarenga hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Mario Gomez fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored GuateFortín's protests and gave Mario Gomez a yellow card for diving instead. After 94 played minutes GuateFortín got a freekick which was hit by Mario Gomez. GuateFortín's Nery Pumpido proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 95th minute of the match, managed to save GuateFortín from getting a goal against them.
