After a rather tough play, Frente Revolucionario F.C's Martín Arauz got a free kick in the 10th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Angelo Intxixu during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 16 minutes of play Frente Revolucionario F.C's Martín Arauz was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After a rather tough play, Frente Revolucionario F.C's Martín Arauz got a free kick in the 16th minute. With a little luck, C A U's Benito Lauro got control of the ball when Wiliam Ulloa tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 25th minute the ball was on its way in behind Frente Revolucionario F.C's goalkeeper Hector Dely, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. A collision led to C A U getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Amado Argi hit a great ball. Amado Argi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 30th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Hector Dely having to interfere. Augusto Ipar sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 37 minutes into the match, C A U's goalkeeper Benito Lauro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Wiliam Ulloa. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Wiliam Ulloa put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Benito Lauro. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Wiliam Ulloa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Frente Revolucionario F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Wiliam Ulloa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Lauro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Franklin Chavez hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After 61 played minutes C A U got a freekick which was hit by Angelo Intxixu. When Augusto Ipar came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the C A U fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Augusto Ipar couldn't finish the play. Frente Revolucionario F.C's Alexis Morales got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hector Dely showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Augusto Ipar in the 73rd minute of the match. Benito Lauro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alexis Morales, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 80th minute of the match Franklin Chavez sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Benito Lauro skillfully saved the ball. Augusto Ipar received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Hector Dely tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hector Dely was a little too slow when Santiago Beremundo got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 85th minute. The score was now 1-1. The supporters of C A U booed when Frente Revolucionario F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 89 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wiliam Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alexis Morales in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Benito Lauro saved C A U from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Wiliam Ulloa in the 94th minute of play forced C A U's goalkeeper Benito Lauro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Augusto Ipar had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
