The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 3rd minute Davide Ruscitti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hector Jakes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 3 played minutes San Michele AFC got a freekick which was hit by Biagio Bussi. Paulo Raitin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Davide De Luca having to make a save. San Michele AFC's Davide Ruscitti got a good chance for a goal in the 8th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Davide Ruscitti took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Hector Jakes. Hector Jakes dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Edoardo Paoletti hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Hector Gizon in the 19th minute. A nice corner shot did that Hector Gizon got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Davide De Luca quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After a rather tough play, San Michele AFC's Edmondo Pellecchia got a free kick in the 20th minute. In the 23rd minute Ismael Laurentzi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Davide De Luca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's goal looked a bit too open when Edmondo Pellecchia came free, but Hector Jakes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Emanuele Evangelista in the 40th minute of play forced CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's goalkeeper Hector Jakes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Edoardo Paoletti scored 0-2 in the 45th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Hector Jakes, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After the first half San Michele AFC were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Emanuele Evangelista stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hector Jakes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Davide Ruscitti, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The crowd rose to their feet as Edmondo Pellecchia kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Hector Jakes. That made the score 0-3 in the 53 minute of play. With a little luck, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Hector Jakes got control of the ball when Fabio Urbani tried to sneak it across the goal line. San Michele AFC's Davide Ruscitti got a good chance for a goal in the 64th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hector Jakes went to the wrong direction when Emanuele Evangelista was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. San Michele AFC's Demetrio Petrella was substituted for Emanuele Evangelista. Edmondo Pellecchia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Hector Jakes made a huge save. After 75 minutes of play, San Michele AFC's Davide Ruscitti made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Hector Jakes was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match had gone on for 79 minutes, Davide Ruscitti took a quick shot and it went in 0-5 without a chance for Hector Jakes to make any attempt to save it. In the 84th minute, Francisco Berdaitz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Hector Jakes didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when San Michele AFC's Demetrio Petrella shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-7 in the ordered_time% minute. Hector Jakes showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Davide Ruscitti, who was totally free with the ball in the 90th minute. In the 91st match minute, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rolando Telesforo to maneuver through the defense. With a little luck, CLUB ATLETICO RIVER PLATE's Hector Jakes got control of the ball when Davide Ruscitti tried to sneak it across the goal line. The San Michele AFC supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing San Michele AFC would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
