The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Leonel Vieira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 5th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Calero having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 8th minute, Beto Cosme managed to get in a good position for a shot. Dr Lecter SC's supporters rose to their feet, but Beto Cosme was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Miguel Calero breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 9 played minutes Júbilo Iwata got a freekick which was hit by Vitinho Trevisan. A collision led to Dr Lecter SC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Leonel Vieira hit a great ball. After having played for 12 minutes, Tomás Pires managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Júbilo Iwata's supporters crossed their fingers, but Tomás Pires was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Guto Esteves hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. Martin Russø sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Miguel Calero came out of the goal in the 32nd minute to try and stop a shot by Dr Lecter SC's Norberto Cardozo. But to his dismay, Norberto Cardozo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. After having played for 35 minutes, Martin Russø managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dr Lecter SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martin Russø was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Miguel Calero showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Beto Cosme in the 40th minute of the match. In the 41st match minute, Júbilo Iwata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Dinei Tróia to maneuver through the defense. In the 42nd match minute, Dr Lecter SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Russø to maneuver through the defense. Tomás Pires kicked well hit freekick during the 44th minute of the match. 46 minutes into the game, Dr Lecter SC's Norberto Cardozo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Miguel Calero made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

After a rather tough play, Dr Lecter SC's Norberto Cardozo got a free kick in the 51st minute. 54 minutes into the match, Dr Lecter SC's goal looked a bit too open when Tomás Pires came free, but César Pereira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Leonel Vieira fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 62nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Miguel Calero having to interfere. In the 65th match minute, Dr Lecter SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Beto Cosme to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Norberto Cardozo in the 72nd minute of play forced Júbilo Iwata's goalkeeper Miguel Calero to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Beto Cosme could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 73rd minute of the match, but Miguel Calero made a huge save. Miguel Calero took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Beto Cosme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Dinei Tróia was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 79 minutes had been played. After 80 played minutes Júbilo Iwata got a freekick which was hit by Dinei Tróia. In the 81st match minute, Júbilo Iwata was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Vágner Medeiros to maneuver through the defense. 91 minutes into the match, Norberto Cardozo notched a goal, 0-3, to the right of Júbilo Iwata's Miguel Calero. Miguel Calero was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Miguel Calero made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Beto Cosme sent off a good shot on target. Dr Lecter SC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
