After 10 played minutes, Dr Lecter SC's Bernardinho Paraense shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Christopher Mailykke came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Dr Lecter SC reached it. When Dr Lecter SC's Norberto Cardozo in the 11th minute got a chance for a shot 11th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Esbjerg fB's goalie prevented a goal. Christopher Mailykke made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Flavinho de Amaral in the 17th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Beto Cosme in the 18th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Christopher Mailykke prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match had gone on for 18 minutes, Beto Cosme put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Christopher Mailykke. André Galvão kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. César Pereira made an important save on a dangerous shot by Benth Fjordhøj in the 23rd minute. Christopher Mailykke showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Beto Cosme, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. 27 minutes into the match, Dr Lecter SC's Martin Russø sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Christopher Mailykke narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 30th match minute, Dr Lecter SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Leonel Vieira to maneuver through the defense. Einar Ahltoft fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without César Pereira having to interfere. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Beto Cosme struck a weak shot in the 52nd minute. Christopher Mailykke didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Dr Lecter SC. Beto Cosme might have been able to make a better finish in the 55th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Christopher Mailykke. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Beto Cosme ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 57th match minute, Dr Lecter SC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Martin Russø to maneuver through the defense. Karsten Kastager kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Beto Cosme kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Christopher Mailykke. That made the score 0-2 in the 61 minute of play. 63 minutes into the match, Esbjerg fB's goal looked a bit too open when Beto Cosme came free, but Christopher Mailykke reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 66 minutes into the game, Egil Holmelin was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Esbjerg fB's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dr Lecter SC the free kick. After a rather tough play, Esbjerg fB's Egil Holmelin got a free kick in the 66th minute. In the 69th minute Martin Russø shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Christopher Mailykke saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 73 minutes, Martin Russø managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dr Lecter SC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Martin Russø was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Beto Cosme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 77th minute. Christopher Mailykke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. César Pereira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Karsten Kastager in the 80th minute of play. In the 82nd match minute, Esbjerg fB was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Stefan Bølge to maneuver through the defense. In the 83rd minute, Martin Russø reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Christopher Mailykke. The goal made the score 0-3. Beto Cosme received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Christopher Mailykke tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 88th minute, Dr Lecter SC's Martin Russø ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Christopher Mailykke. Christopher Mailykke yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-4. Esbjerg fB's Christopher Mailykke proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Esbjerg fB from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in Dr Lecter SC's zone, Olof Allov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. César Pereira came out of the goal and Olof Allov tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Dr Lecter SC walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
