Joel Ramalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luiz Paulo Diniz having to interfere. If Nelson Valladares had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Carlos Fernando Vides's late challenge caught a Galo na Veia FC™'s player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Yuri Queiroz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Galo na Veia FC™'s Joel Ramalho got a good chance for a goal in the 59th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 65 minutes into the match, Galo na Veia FC™'s Renato Pimenta sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Luiz Paulo Diniz narrowly saved just below the crossbar. LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC's Luiz Paulo Diniz played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nelson Valladares in the 72nd minute of play. Elói Medeiros took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Inácio Montenegro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Galo na Veia FC™'s Nelson Valladares got a good chance for a goal in the 77th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC's Caio Tróia was substituted for Edu Negri. 87 minutes into the game, Yuri Queiroz cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-2. Luiz Paulo Diniz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 93rd minute Adalberto Amorim shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Elói Medeiros saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Roberto Ortiz fell near the penalty area in the 94th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored LADEIRA DO BATISTA FC's protests and gave Roberto Ortiz a yellow card for diving instead. Yuri Queiroz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Luiz Paulo Diniz tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Galo na Veia FC™ eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
