Aris Tsobanis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. A collision led to P.A.O.K. Patras F.C. getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Giorgos Antonopoulos hit a great ball. In the 29th minute, Marco Varela made a precise shot to the right of Aris Tsobanis. P.A.O.K. Patras F.C.'s defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. If Caio Ponte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Minho FC's Sidónio Marinho got a free kick in the 34th minute. 38 minutes into the match, P.A.O.K. Patras F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Marco Varela came free, but Aris Tsobanis reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 42nd minute, Marco Varela got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. P.A.O.K. Patras F.C.'s Aris Tsobanis played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Maurício Pimentel in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th match minute, Minho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heitor Seixas to maneuver through the defense. Bento Bento showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sotiris Panagiotopoulos, who was totally free with the ball in the 47th minute. After the first half Minho FC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marco Varela was the one to do the kick off. Marco Varela received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Aris Tsobanis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Minho FC fans' excitement grew in the 61st match minute when Minho FC's Maurício Pimentel looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-4 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Vladimiros Siomos kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Minho FC's Lisandro Leite tried to score from far away in the 65th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. Aris Tsobanis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Marco Varela in the 66th minute of the match. Marco Varela succeeded in the game's 69th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 1-5. 74 minutes into the game, Minho FC's Maurício Pimentel nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aris Tsobanis made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-6. Marco Varela took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Aris Tsobanis. Aris Tsobanis dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-7. Anestis Kolofotias's late challenge caught a Minho FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anestis Kolofotias helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Minho FC booed when P.A.O.K. Patras F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 85 match minutes in a wonderful position. Anestis Kolofotias didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 88th minute, Marco Varela left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Minho FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-8. In the 93rd match minute, Minho FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Maurício Pimentel to maneuver through the defense. Minho FC's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
