Max Hawthorne sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in Begu Ganjang's zone, Max Hawthorne stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tonton Wiriadipura came out of the goal and Max Hawthorne tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Begu Ganjang's goalkeeper Tonton Wiriadipura, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Max Hawthorne fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 23rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tonton Wiriadipura having to interfere. After some careless play in the ForestFire defense, Darto Munandar kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Rusty Deering. The ForestFire fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Rusty Deering should have stopped the shot. In the 29th minute of the match Yoyo Yom sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rusty Deering skillfully saved the ball. After 30 minutes, Stephan Nava mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the ForestFire and the Begu Ganjang players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to ForestFire getting a freekick after 30 minutes play. Stephan Nava hit a great ball. The supporters of ForestFire booed when Begu Ganjang was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Begu Ganjang's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave ForestFire the free kick. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sam Christiawan in the 38th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rusty Deering saved ForestFire from getting behind. If Dodi Hermansyah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When Whitney Pelletier came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the ForestFire fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Whitney Pelletier couldn't finish the play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Whitney Pelletier made a kick off. Yoyo Yom hit a great freekick 50 minutes into the match. Abas Arkananta hit a great freekick 53 minutes into the match. Sam Christiawan hit a great freekick 55 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, Begu Ganjang's Sam Christiawan got a free kick in the 57th minute. In the 59th minute Max Hawthorne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tonton Wiriadipura saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 61 played minutes Begu Ganjang got a freekick which was hit by Darto Munandar. Max Hawthorne hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match.
