Spectators: 167 (Terracing: 126, Seating: 38, VIP seats: 3) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Armando Rosalio started the match with the kick off. Ramon Shantala blasted a shot towards the goal in the 3rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Florian Guderian having to make a save. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Inocencio Matai during the 9th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Mercado Paulista F.C getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Inocencio Matai hit a great ball. Bishen Top hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Mercado Paulista F.C's Ramon Tancredo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Mercado Paulista F.C from getting a goal against them. 22 minutes into the match, Sydney FC's goal looked a bit too open when Armando Rosalio came free, but Florian Guderian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ramon Shantala sent away a hard shot on goal in the 24th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 38 minutes into the game, Fabricio Tohias was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mercado Paulista F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sydney FC the free kick. Mercado Paulista F.C's Ramon Shantala got a good chance for a goal in the 42nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sydney FC's Florian Guderian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Armando Rosalio in the 46th minute of play. When Mercado Paulista F.C's Ramon Shantala in the 48th minute got a chance for a shot 48th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Sydney FC's goalie prevented a goal. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Thorben Rittmann made a kick off. With a little luck, Sydney FC's Florian Guderian got control of the ball when Albino Asteri tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 57 played minutes Sydney FC got a freekick which was hit by Bartolomeo Heinlein. 60 minutes into the match, Armando Rosalio had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Florian Guderian. Sydney FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Armando Rosalio was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Thorben Rittmann fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 63rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ramon Tancredo having to interfere. After 63 played minutes Mercado Paulista F.C got a freekick which was hit by German Laurentzi. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pierre Möhn in the 64th minute of play forced Mercado Paulista F.C's goalkeeper Ramon Tancredo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Armando Rosalio in the 68th minute of play forced Sydney FC's goalkeeper Florian Guderian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 69th minute Pierre Möhn shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ramon Tancredo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Pierre Möhn received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Ramon Tancredo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mercado Paulista F.C's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Diego Vargas in the 76th minute. The corner led Mercado Paulista F.C's Diego Vargas to fire away a dangerous shot which Florian Guderian despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Pierre Möhn kicked well hit freekick during the 81st minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pierre Möhn in the 92nd minute of play forced Mercado Paulista F.C's goalkeeper Ramon Tancredo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pierre Möhn charged in rather forcefully in the 96th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Pierre Möhn the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Sydney FC's Pierre Möhn got a free kick in the 96th minute. Mercado Paulista F.C's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
