Fragmenty Nietoperzy's supporters crossed their fingers, but Igor Ciborek was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Grzegorz Zacharek's late challenge caught a Sydney FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Grzegorz Zacharek helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Fragmenty Nietoperzy's Grzegorz Zacharek got a free kick in the 10th minute. If Bartolomeo Heinlein had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kees Plappert sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 15 played minutes Fragmenty Nietoperzy got a freekick which was hit by Wawrzyniec Zalipski. Thorben Rittmann's shot from long distance in the 16th minute was not bad at all, but Fragmenty Nietoperzy's Marian Brodzki knew what was happening and pushed the ball into his arms just before it hit the right post. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thorben Rittmann in the 19th minute of play forced Fragmenty Nietoperzy's goalkeeper Marian Brodzki to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Marian Brodzki made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Kees Plappert sent off a good shot on target. 36 minutes into the match, Fragmenty Nietoperzy's Igor Ciborek sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Florian Guderian narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After 39 minutes, Merten Kilic mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sydney FC and the Fragmenty Nietoperzy players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Fragmenty Nietoperzy booed when Sydney FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Merten Kilic didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 40th minute, Igor Ciborek sent off a long shot on goal, but the shot was nowhere near the goal and Sydney FC's Florian Guderian didn't even have to move. Fragmenty Nietoperzy's Igor Ciborek got a good chance for a goal in the 48th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Sydney FC made a substitution. Pierre Möhn replaced Kees Plappert. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Grzegorz Zacharek hit a great freekick 72 minutes into the match. Sydney FC's Thorben Rittmann got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Igor Ciborek kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 77th minute of the match Tizian Borutta sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Marian Brodzki skillfully saved the ball. 84 minutes into the match, Sydney FC's goal looked a bit too open when Igor Ciborek came free, but Florian Guderian reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
