Don Küttner's late challenge caught a MATRIX TEAM's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Don Küttner helped the player get up and apologised. After 5 played minutes Sydney FC got a freekick which was hit by Don Küttner. After a defensive mix-up in Sydney FC's zone, Feliks Gierlach stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florian Guderian came out of the goal and Feliks Gierlach tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bartolomeo Heinlein might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ziemowit Burufski. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Bartolomeo Heinlein ran back to his position shaking his head. After 15 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for MATRIX TEAM! In the 16th minute there was a penalty for Sydney FC. Thorben Rittmann stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Ziemowit Burufski. 0-1. In the 26th match minute, Sydney FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kees Plappert to maneuver through the defense. Kees Plappert blasted a shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Ziemowit Burufski having to make a save. In the 31st minute, Klaus Mogg hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, Sydney FC's Florian Guderian got control of the ball when Tomasz Rojewski tried to sneak it across the goal line. The crowd rose to their feet as MATRIX TEAM's Kacper Lemiesz slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Florian Guderian. That made the score 2-2 after 34 minutes of play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nat Schmitt during the 36th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a defensive mix-up in Sydney FC's zone, Kacper Lemiesz stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Florian Guderian came out of the goal and Kacper Lemiesz tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Thorben Rittmann in the 40th minute of play forced MATRIX TEAM's goalkeeper Ziemowit Burufski to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sydney FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Thorben Rittmann in the 41st minute. Thorben Rittmann made a great header on Sydney FC's corner, it was just that MATRIX TEAM's Ziemowit Burufski managed to reach the ball for a save. Sydney FC made a substitution. Pierre Möhn replaced Kees Plappert.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Lukasz Solak made a kick off. After 53 played minutes MATRIX TEAM got a freekick which was hit by Walery Huk. Sydney FC's Thorben Rittmann shoveled away a really nice long shot in the 54th minute of play. The shot was stopped by Ziemowit Burufski but with some difficulty. 56 minutes into the game, Tomasz Rojewski cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-3. Florian Guderian was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 62nd minute, Thorben Rittmann got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Florian Guderian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kacper Lemiesz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After having played for 66 minutes, Kacper Lemiesz managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. MATRIX TEAM's supporters crossed their fingers, but Kacper Lemiesz was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Bartolomeo Heinlein fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ziemowit Burufski having to interfere. A collision led to Sydney FC getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Pierre Möhn hit a great ball. In the 77th minute Tomasz Rojewski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Florian Guderian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thorben Rittmann recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 78th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had gone on for 81 minutes, Bartolomeo Heinlein took a quick shot and it went in 3-5 without a chance for Ziemowit Burufski to make any attempt to save it. In the 84thth minute of the game Lukasz Solak who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Sydney FC's Florian Guderian was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Sydney FC's Florian Guderian played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomasz Rojewski in the 85th minute of play. Florian Guderian didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lukasz Solak went, in the 87th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-5 was the resulting score. Ziemowit Burufski didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Thorben Rittmann went, in the 90th minute, to the upper right corner, 4-6 was the resulting score. 93 minutes into the game, Tomasz Rojewski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. MATRIX TEAM's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Sydney FC the free kick. In the 93rd minute, Tomasz Rojewski hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.
