Ivan Ríos was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 12 minutes into the game, Jose Henríguez was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Carta Vieja F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ the free kick. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 11th minute of the game. One of Carta Vieja F.C.:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ:s goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers César Cardozo in the 14th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ivan Ríos saved Carta Vieja F.C. from getting behind. In the 18th minute, César Cardozo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Romel Mendoza hit a great freekick 23 minutes into the match. After 28 minutes, Toninho Alagoano made it 0-3 with a short kick to the right side. Carta Vieja F.C.'s Ivan Ríos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Ivan Ríos made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from César Cardozo in the 32nd minute of play. In the 32nd minute César Cardozo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ivan Ríos saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd minute of the match CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ got a corner. Carta Vieja F.C.'s goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. César Cardozo ran over to the corner to take the kick. A well-hit corner resulted in Júnior Tinoco heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 45th minute, César Cardozo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-4. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-4.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. César Cardozo was the one to do the kick off. A hard shot 83 in the game by César Cardozo from a close distance when the talented Ivan Ríos managed to make a qualified save. Carta Vieja F.C.'s players were relieved. César Cardozo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 85th minute of the match, but Ivan Ríos made a huge save. Carta Vieja F.C.'s defense didn't have a chance, in the 86th minute, when César Cardozo scored to the left of an out of position Ivan Ríos, making the score, 0-7. After 91 minutes of play, CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ's Fabrício Miranda made it 0-8 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ivan Ríos was left in no man's land by his defense there! Ivan Ríos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from César Cardozo, who was totally free with the ball in the 96th minute. CA Metropolitano - FSCMZ played a much better game than Carta Vieja F.C. and deserved their victory. The Carta Vieja F.C. players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
