One of Botafogo AP:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of AFC - Curitiba:s goal. When the match had been going on for 16 minutes, AFC - Curitiba's Jano Proença got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Gilmar de Mendonça. The supporters of Botafogo AP booed when AFC - Curitiba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clemente Ceresso didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Durvalino Linhares made a kick off.
