Abelardo Cristofor stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Durvalino Linhares's shot from short distance in the 19th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bruno Maraman in the 21st minute of play forced AFC - Curitiba's goalkeeper Arnaldo Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 23rd minute of the match AFC - Curitiba got a corner. Sportivo Ben Hur's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. AFC - Curitiba's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. After a rather tough play, AFC - Curitiba's Fernandinho de Moraes got a free kick in the 47th minute. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Bruno Maraman to make the kick off. Desiderio Tancredo charged in rather forcefully in the 56th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Desiderio Tancredo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 57th match minute, Sportivo Ben Hur was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Desiderio Tancredo to maneuver through the defense. After 58 played minutes Sportivo Ben Hur got a freekick which was hit by Ovidio Piarres. Jano Proença, 61 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. After some careless play in the AFC - Curitiba defense, Bruno Maraman kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Arnaldo Lopes. The AFC - Curitiba fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Arnaldo Lopes should have stopped the shot. Sportivo Ben Hur's Abelardo Cristofor proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 72nd minute of the match, managed to save Sportivo Ben Hur from getting a goal against them. Abelardo Cristofor made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Durvalino Linhares in the 74th minute of play. In the 76th minute Fabricio Martxot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Arnaldo Lopes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 95 minutes into the match, AFC - Curitiba's goal looked a bit too open when Bruno Maraman came free, but Arnaldo Lopes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Sportivo Ben Hur had played much better football throughout.
