A collision led to Atlético São Sebastião getting a freekick after 14 minutes play. Cauã Galvão hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the match, Atlético São Sebastião's goalkeeper João Pedro Donato had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Luciano Rodríguez. In the 20th match minute, Atlético São Sebastião was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Anísio Paiva to maneuver through the defense. Rogério Campos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 22nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 24 minutes into the game, GD Almargense's Igor Matanović nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. João Pedro Donato made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. 27 minutes into the match, Atlético São Sebastião's goal looked a bit too open when Luciano Rodríguez came free, but João Pedro Donato reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Micael Torcato showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Anísio Paiva, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Luciano Rodríguez got free with João Pedro Donato in the 45th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Micael Torcato showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edgar Novaes in the 47th minute of the match. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Edgar Novaes made a kick off. Micael Torcato made an important save on a dangerous shot by Edson Oliveira in the 52nd minute. Edson Oliveiras short, quick shot in the 52ndth minute got Micael Torcato to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. After some careless play in the GD Almargense defense, Anísio Paiva kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Micael Torcato. The GD Almargense fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Micael Torcato should have stopped the shot. 60 minutes into the match, Anísio Paiva dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Micael Torcato, 2-2. The supporters of Atlético São Sebastião booed when GD Almargense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Laureano Madruga didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 71 minutes, Edson Oliveira mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Atlético São Sebastião and the GD Almargense players grew even worse after the yellow card.
