The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Atlético São Sebastião. Jarbas França might have been able to make a better finish in the 21st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over 董德坚. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Jarbas França ran back to his position shaking his head. Anísio Paiva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but 董德坚 read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 21st minute of play. In the 26th minute, 何国文 ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Samuca Sá was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Samuca Sá made an important save on a dangerous shot by 赵锋荣 in the 29th minute. With a little luck, Atlético São Sebastião's Samuca Sá got control of the ball when 何国文 tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 38th minute, 彭洋寒 hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Jarbas França to strike the kick off in the second half. 董德坚 took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcus Pinho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 52nd minute 何国文 shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Samuca Sá saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 谢诚's late challenge caught a Atlético São Sebastião's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain.
