The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 5th minute, Osvaldo Melo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 8thth minute of the game Holger Wallengren who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but G.D Vitória de Sernache's Valdemar Assis was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After a rather tough play, North Pole Kickers's Grant Trää got a free kick in the 11th minute. Egil Åkerman didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 13th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. When Edwin Emander fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored North Pole Kickers's protests and gave Edwin Emander a yellow card for diving instead. Edwin Emander kicked well hit freekick during the 16th minute of the match. 20 minutes into the match, Veríssimo Velasques dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Egil Åkerman, 2-0. North Pole Kickers's Egil Åkerman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Veríssimo Velasques in the 23rd minute of play. Holger Wallengren sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 30th match minute, G.D Vitória de Sernache was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Heitor Festas to maneuver through the defense. In the 32nd minute, Stefan Gernberg made a precise shot to the right of Valdemar Assis. G.D Vitória de Sernache's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Holger Wallengren was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 56th minute. North Pole Kickers's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. The audience was convinced that Holger Wallengren's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Valdemar Assis was relentless in the 61st minute of the game. 63 minutes into the match, G.D Vitória de Sernache's goalkeeper Valdemar Assis had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Holger Wallengren. Holger Wallengrens short, quick shot in the 68thth minute got Valdemar Assis to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 74th minute, Holger Wallengren got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 76th match minute, North Pole Kickers was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Uno Granberg to maneuver through the defense. Olov Bäcklin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 78th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdemar Assis having to interfere. Filiph Jonsson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Valdemar Assis tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 86 minutes into the game, Filiph Jonsson was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. North Pole Kickers's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave G.D Vitória de Sernache the free kick. After some fancy dribbling in the 88th minute, Veríssimo Velasques managed to get in a good position for a shot. G.D Vitória de Sernache's supporters rose to their feet, but Veríssimo Velasques was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Egil Åkerman breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Olov Bäcklin fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Valdemar Assis having to interfere. North Pole Kickers's Egil Åkerman played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by António Ramalho in the 96th minute of play. North Pole Kickers's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
