The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vinícius de Souza showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. In the 11th minute, FC La Masia's Rubens Faria seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Rubens Faria the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of FC La Masia protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Rubens Faria had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. A collision led to FC La Masia getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Rubens Faria hit a great ball. Vinícius de Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jean de Amorim, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A hard shot 17 in the game by Dida Alves from a close distance when the talented Juninho Urbano managed to make a qualified save. Cambridge Esporte Clube's players were relieved. FC La Masia's Vinícius de Souza played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by João Vítor de Toledo in the 19th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Jean de Amorim's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vinícius de Souza was relentless in the 22nd minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Luiz Paulo Borges during the 26th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Dida Alves got in the 39th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Juninho Urbano handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. Juninho Urbano made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luiz Fábio Custódio in the 42nd minute of play. Dida Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Juninho Urbano having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jean de Amorim stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute the ball was on its way in behind Cambridge Esporte Clube's goalkeeper Juninho Urbano, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After some careless play in the Cambridge Esporte Clube defense, Dida Alves kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Juninho Urbano. The Cambridge Esporte Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Juninho Urbano should have stopped the shot. After having played for 68 minutes, Cássio de Sousa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. FC La Masia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cássio de Sousa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC La Masia's defense didn't have a chance, in the 74th minute, when Tostão Lucas scored to the left of an out of position Vinícius de Souza, making the score, 1-2. Juninho Urbano stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Luiz Fábio Custódio's shot from short distance in the 78th minute. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Luiz Fábio Custódio put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Juninho Urbano. The audience thought a goal was coming when João Vítor de Toledo got free with Vinícius de Souza in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 90 minutes into the match, Cambridge Esporte Clube's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fábio Custódio came free, but Juninho Urbano reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Cambridge Esporte Clube getting a freekick after 92 minutes play. Luís Paulo Correia hit a great ball. Cássio de Sousa was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 92nd played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. Cambridge Esporte Clube's Juninho Urbano played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dida Alves in the 96th minute of play. FC La Masia were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Cambridge Esporte Clube for a fine match.
