The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 3 minutes into the game, OROTINENSE's Alex Santamaria nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. José Chilavert made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. The supporters of OROTINENSE booed when Blue Boys Predators was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 11 match minutes in a wonderful position. Per Wästerberg didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th play minute Alex Santamaria came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised José Chilavert. 2-0. Alex Santamaria could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 15th minute of the match, but José Chilavert made a huge save. 19 minutes into the match, Blue Boys Predators's goalkeeper José Chilavert had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rodolfo Orozco. Blue Boys Predators's José Chilavert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodolfo Orozco in the 21st minute of play. José Chilavert showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rodolfo Orozco, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. 23 minutes into the match, Blue Boys Predators's goal looked a bit too open when Buenaventura Paniagua came free, but José Chilavert reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Kasper Lindell was the one to do the kick off. Alex Santamaria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 51st minute. José Chilavert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alex Santamaria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Blue Boys Predators's José Chilavert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Buenaventura Paniagua in the 55th minute of play. 56 minutes into the match, OROTINENSE's Buenaventura Paniagua sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Chilavert narrowly saved just below the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Blue Boys Predators's zone, Buenaventura Paniagua stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. José Chilavert came out of the goal and Buenaventura Paniagua tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alex Santamaria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. José Chilavert tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Blue Boys Predators's José Chilavert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Buenaventura Paniagua in the 83rd minute of play. Buenaventura Paniagua blasted a shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without José Chilavert having to make a save. OROTINENSE's Alex Santamaria got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, OROTINENSE's Jonny Rosales got a free kick in the 90th minute. José Chilavert showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Buenaventura Paniagua in the 92nd minute of the match. Blue Boys Predators's José Chilavert played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Santamaria in the 98th minute of play. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. OROTINENSE had played much better football throughout.
