The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Iurie Ivasiuc could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 4th minute of the match, but Ulises Villegas made a huge save. In the 7th minute, Iurie Ivasiuc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jonny Rosales scored 0-1 in the 8th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pavel Milescu, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 19th minute, Salvador Montealegre hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. With a little luck, OROTINENSE's Ulises Villegas got control of the ball when Levi Miner tried to sneak it across the goal line. 23 minutes into the game, OROTINENSE's Jonny Rosales nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pavel Milescu made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-2. Ulises Villegas showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Iurie Ivasiuc in the 27th minute of the match. Levi Miner took the ball and in the 31 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Ulises Villegas. Ulises Villegas dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-2. After a rather tough play, OROTINENSE's Buenaventura Paniagua got a free kick in the 35th minute. Ulises Villegas was a little too slow when Levi Miner got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 36th minute. The score was now 2-2. If Olimpiu Drăucean had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Pavel Milescu made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alex Santamaria in the 40th minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Iurie Ivasiuc in the 41st managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Ulises Villegas saved OROTINENSE from getting behind. OROTINENSE's Ulises Villegas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorel Ghețea in the 44th minute of play. In the 47th minute, Iurie Ivasiuc made a precise shot to the right of Ulises Villegas. OROTINENSE's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-2. Af the end of the first half the score was 3-2. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Levi Miner was the one to do the kick off. In the 62nd minute, OROTINENSE's Rodolfo Orozco dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 4-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Olimpiu Drăucean in the 71st minute of play forced OROTINENSE's goalkeeper Ulises Villegas to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 72nd minute, Jonny Chamberlain hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a rather tough play, OROTINENSE's Jonny Chamberlain got a free kick in the 78th minute. In the 81st minute, OROTINENSE's Jonny Chamberlain seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jonny Chamberlain the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of OROTINENSE protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jonny Chamberlain had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 80 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for OROTINENSE! 82 minutes into the game, Levi Miner cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-3. Ulises Villegas was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto Barrantes in the 87th minute of play forced CS Minerul 03 CAVNIC ⚒ MM's goalkeeper Pavel Milescu to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ulises Villegas made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Levi Miner in the 90th minute of play. CS Minerul 03 CAVNIC ⚒ MM's Pavel Milescu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernesto Barrantes in the 93rd minute of play. CS Minerul 03 CAVNIC ⚒ MM's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
